Michael and Simon at 30 James Street
by Manchester Wedding Photographer: A Tale of Two
We met Michael and Simon in Lyme Park for their pre-wedding chat and as Michael is a fan of Pride and Prejudice it seemed the best place for a photo shoot on a glorious summer afternoon, though he didn`t jump in the pond like Mr Darcy. It was nice to meet the guys for a catch up and hear all about their plans for their Liverpool wedding at 30 James Street.

Wow! 30 James Street, what a fantastic hotel and great venue for a Liverpool wedding.
We arrived at the venue in the morning, walking into this historic building we were blown away with the grand scale of the hotel and it`s fantastic décor. The White Star Grand Hall was still under preparations for today`s wedding ceremony with the staff arranging the chairs and flowers to the sides of the aisle. The grand hall is a perfect setting for a wedding photographer with its high ceilings and floor to ceiling windows all around bringing in natural light from all directions. Originally designed as a first class lounge and ticket area for the White Star Shipping Company.
Heading downstairs to meet the guys we walk into a room with the biggest bed we have ever seen, easily sleeps 20 people ha. We didn`t see Simon as he had disappeared to the pub while everyone was getting ready. They had 10 bridesmaids down here as well as Michael and the Grooms men getting ready together and although you would think this would be chaos it was actually quite relaxed and organised. While mingling around taking photographs we met Christine from Oops a Daisy florist again who was providing the flowers for the occasion.
Upstairs the guests were starting to take to their seats in the grand hall while Simon and his Best woman looked on chatting away together with his family.
The toast master arrived to announce the arrival of the bridesmaids and the wedding was underway with girls walking the aisle and Michael following with his mother at his side. It was a beautiful ceremony, everything going as planned despite the little mix up with the guys putting the wrong wedding rings which brought laughter when Simon tried to take the ring off.
After the ceremony everyone headed upstairs to the Carpathia rooftop bar for drinks and canapes in the sun while the staff turned the Grand Hall around for the wedding breakfast. We used the upstairs for the group shots before spending a little time with Michael and Simon together taking their photographs outside on the balcony.
We saw Michael`s Best man and Simon`s brother fill the room with laughter during their speeches though they were both really outshone by the Bridesmaids all standing up together around the room to surprise the guys with their version of Wilson Phillips, Hold on. This was one of the nicest surprises we have ever seen at a wedding as it got everyone up singing. We eventually finished the day with the cutting of the cake and the first dance leaving Michael and Simon to enjoy the rest of their day with their fantastic family and friends around them.
